For a more rested and alert appearance, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may be the right choice. Blepharoplasty removes loose or sagging skin on the upper eyelid that creates a tired appearance and can impair vision. The surgery can also remove fatty deposits and reduce the puffiness in the upper eyelid, as well as remove bags, excess skin and fine wrinkles in the lower eyelid.
If you would like to speak with one of our physicians personally about blepharoplasty procedures, please email us or give our office a call.
Body Contouring
For a smoother, more contoured profile, individuals have many options to choose from, depending on the area or areas they would like surgical help with molding. Implants, lifts and liposuction are just a few of the choices.

BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular non-surgical option to reduce wrinkles. Given in injection form, BOTOX® provides a temporary fix for frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet and thick bands in the neck by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles for a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Email us or call to speak with our aesthetician for more information. She is happy to answer patients’ questions personally.
Brow Lift
A brow lift (commonly referred to as a forehead lift) can help individuals achieve a youthful, more alert appearance by minimizing deep creases in the forehead, improving the frown lines (creases high on the bridge of the nose) and can reposition a sagging brow. A brow lift is often done in conjunction with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), face lift, and skin rejuvenation.

Burn Care
Burns can often leave behind physically and emotionally painful scars that can negatively impact one’s quality of life and self-confidence. A board-certified plastic surgeon can help minimize scarring and alleviate some of the physical and mental pain associated with it. Treatment is highly individualized, depending on the severity and size of the burn wound, as well as other personal factors.
For burn care information specific to your needs and situation, please email us or call to speak with one of our physicians personally.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remove the skin’s damaged outer layers to reveal a smoother surface. Facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation can be corrected with a chemical peel that can be formulated to meet your specific needs. Although a chemical peel may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, it is not a substitute for such surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the aging process.
Chemical peels are performed in our skin care spa by either our skin care specialist, one of our four board-certified physicians, or a nurse under their care. Please continue to read through the peels that we offer and call to set up your consultation with our skin care specialist or one of our doctors.

Cleft Lip & Palate
Two of the most common birth defects are cleft lips and cleft palates. These abnormalities can impair a child’s ability to eat, speak, hear and breathe. A cleft lip is the incomplete formation of the upper lip, while a cleft palate is the incomplete formation of the roof of the mouth. The defects may occur separately or together.
The surgery to correct this abnormal development is highly specialized to a child’s exact needs. The surgery is meant to restore function, as well as to restore a more normal appearance and to enable normal growth in the future.
To speak directly with one of our physicians regarding questions and concerns about cleft lip and palate surgeries, please call or email us.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion helps to soften surface skin imperfections, such scars from accidents, acne and previous surgery, as well as fine wrinkles. Through this method of controlled surgical scraping, skin appears smoother. Dermabrasion can be performed on small areas of the skin or on the entire face and can be used alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift, scar removal or revision, or chemical peel.
For more information, email us or call to speak with one of our physicians. They are happy to answer patients’ questions personally.
Face & Neck Lift
If you are noticing deep creases around your nose, mouth, and eyes, or sagging and loose skin on your cheeks and lower face, then a facelift may give you back the more youthful look you are missing.
While a facelift can’t stop the aging process or change your fundamental appearance, it can give more dramatic results than non-surgical treatments.
For more information, email us or call to speak with one of our physicians. They are happy to answer patients’ questions personally.
Facial Implants
If you are longing for the high cheekbones, strong jawbone, and balanced chin, which create the visible contours and natural angles that make for a more attractive appearance, then facial implants may be the right choice for you.
If you are considering facial implants, our physicians are happy to answer any questions you might have. Give us a call to speak with one of them personally.
Fat Injections
Human fat, harvested from your own body can be re-injected to enhance facial fullness, fill deep creases and to build up shallow contours. Fat injection requires a more extensive procedure than other injectable fillers because it uses liposuction techniques to extract the fat prior to injection. Treatment results last up to a year or more in some cases and are highly variable. Fat can be stored for your own future treatment. The duration of results from preserved fat is not as favorable as fat used at the same time it is harvested.
Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is the condition of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men. It can be the result of hormonal changes, heredity conditions, disease, or the use of certain drugs.
Breast reduction surgery for men can reduce the size of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men, restoring self-confidence and quality of life.
To speak directly with one of our physicians about the surgical options for men suffering from gynecomastia, please call or email our office.
Hands & Wrist
If your strength, function and flexibility of your wrist and fingers is impaired due to carpal tunnel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, birth defects, trauma, or other disorders, treatment and surgery can restore to near normal the function of fingers and hands.
Unlike purely cosmetic procedures, reconstructive and reparative surgeries improve both function and appearance. Due to the wide range of hand and wrist impairments, treatments and surgery options vary, depending on specific circumstances.
Hands and wrists are a complicated mix of many bones, ligaments, joints, tendons, muscles, nerves, skin and blood vessels. A physician specializing in reparative and reconstructive hand and wrist surgery has the experience to best guide a patient through the maze of treatment options.
The following are just a few of the hand conditions that the doctors of Plastic Surgery Associates work with frequently:
- Arthritis: Base of the Thumb
The most common symptom of thumb basal joint arthritis is a deep aching pain at the base of the thumb. The pain is often worsened with activities that involve pinch, including opening jars, turning door knobs or keys, and writing.
- Arthritis: MP Joint
The large joints in the hand at the base of each finger are known as the metacarpophalangeal (MP, or MCP) joints. they act as complex hinge joints and are important for both power grip and pinch activities.
- Arthritis: Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the cushioning cartilage that covers the bone surfaces at the joints begins to wear out.
- Arthritis: Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis affects the cells that line and normally lubricate the joints (synovial tissue). This is a systemic condition (can affect the whole body), which means that it may affect multiple joints, usually on both sides of the body.
- Burns
When the skin comes in contact with something hot, it may be damaged, with death of cells in the skin. The depth of the injury depends on the intensity of the heat and the length of time that it is applied.
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a condition brought on by increased pressure on the median nerve at the wrist. In effect, it is a pinched nerve at the wrist.
- DeQuervain's Tendonitis
The cause of deQuervain's tendonitis is an irritation of the tendons at the base of the thumb, usually caused by taking up a new, repetitive activity.
- Dupuytren's Disease
Dupuytren's disease is an abnormal thickening of the fascia (the tissue just beneath the skin of the palm). It often starts with firm lumps in the palm.
- Elbow Fractures
Elbow fractures may result from falling onto an outstretched arm, and direct impact to the elbow, or a twisting injury. Sprains, strains, or dislocations may occur at the same time as a fracture.
- Tendon Injuries
Extensor tendons, located on the back of the hand and fingers, allowing you to straighten your fingers and thumb.
The muscles that bend or flex the fingers are called flexor muscles. These flexor muscles move the fingers through cord-like extensions called tendons, which connect the muscles to bone.
- Fingertip Injuries
Fingertip injuries are one of the more common injuries in the hand. The fingertips are exposed in many of our activities.
- Ganglion Cysts
Ganglion cysts are very common lumps within the hand and wrist that occur adjacent to joints or tendons.
- Hand Fractures
A fracture occurs when enough force is applied to a bone to break it. When this happens, there is pain, swelling, and decreased use of the injured part. Many people think that a fracture is different from a break, but they are the same.
- Hand Infections
Hand infections can cause severe problems that persist even after infection has resolved, such as stiffness, loss of strength, and even loss of tissues such as skin, nerve and even bone.
- Hand Tumors
Any abnormal lump or bump is considered a tumor. A tumor can also be referred to as a "mass". The term "tumor" does not necessarily mean it is malignant or it is a cancer.
- Nail Bed Injuries
Injuries to the nail are often associated with damage to other structures that are in the same location.
- Nerve Injuries
Nerves are fragile and can be damaged by pressure, stretching, or cutting. Pressure or stretching injuries can cause the fibers carrying the information to break and stop the nerve from working, without disrupting the insulating cover.
- Power Saw Injuries
Power saws are extremely useful tools, enabling all types of material to be cut and shaped. However, they also have the potential to cause serious hand injuries. The hands are used to guide pieces into the saw, and thus they can be vulnerable.
- Skin Cancer of the Hand and Upper Extremity
Skin cancer is a change in some of the cells of your skin such that they grow abnormally to form a malignant tumor. These abnormal cells can invade through the skin into adjacent structures or travel throughout your body.
- Stiffness in the Hand
Normal joints have considerable motion, enabling us to perform many different activities with our hands. A variety of problems can cause stiffness in the hand, limiting the use and function that we often take for granted.
- Tennis Elbow Lateral Epicondylitis
Lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, is a painful condition involving the tendons that attach to the bone on the outside (lateral) part of the elbow.
- Trigger Finger
Stenosing tenosynovitis, commonly known as "trigger finger" or "trigger thumb", involves the pulleys and tendons in the hand that bend the fingers.
- Wrist Fractures
The most commonly broken bone of the wrist is the radius. Many people think that a fracture is different from a break, but they are the same.

Laser Skin Renewal
Looking to reduce sunspots, red blotches, acne, rosacea, scars or wrinkles, but not quite getting the results you want with chemical peels or microdermabrasion? Laser skin renewal might be a better choice for you. Laser resurfacing actually removes the outer, damaged layer of skin to reveal smoother, younger looking skin. Often done in conjunction with other treatments, laser skin treatments offer some of the most dramatic results in the shortest amount of time.
If you are considering Laser skin renewal, email us or call to speak with one of our physicians so they can answer your questions personally.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Has that tattoo that you thought was so clever and meaningful twenty years ago turned in to more of an eyesore? Estimates are that as many as half of the people who get tattoos eventually want them removed. Good news - no longer does a tattoo have to be permanent. Now, with high-intensity light beams, tattoos can be removed with minimal side effects. Light beams break up the pigment into small pieces, and the body absorbs the ink, so the tattoo can be removed without any harm done to surrounding skin.
Interested in more information on laser tattoo removal? Our physicians are happy to answer patients’ questions personally, just call or email us.
Laser Treatment for Rosacea
For more than 20 years, individuals suffering from rosacea have experienced improvements with laser treatments. While laser treatment is not a cure, it has provided dramatic, long-lasting results for some individuals. There are several types of laser treatments aimed at shrinking dilated blood vessels, reducing redness and minimizing the thickening of the skin, which can be associated with more advanced stages of the disorder.
To learn if you are a good candidate for laser treatment, give our office a call so one of our physicians can speak to you directly.
Lip Enhancement
Full lips are a symbol of youth and beauty. For individuals with small, deflated, asymmetrical, drooping or wrinkled lips, augmentation can add or restore fullness. Lip enhancement procedures include surgical implants and non-surgical injectable fillers, with implants providing a permanent solution and injections delivering a temporary fix that usually 6-12 months. Surgically, your own fat or other tissues (facia, SMAS) can be transferred into your lips to give a more permanent result.
If you would like to speak with one of our physicians personally about lip enhancement options, please email us or give our office a call.
Liposuction
If you are having difficulty removing pockets of excess fat despite dieting and exercise, liposuction might be right for you. Because these fat deposits are often genetic, it takes liposuction to remove the fat to improve your body contours and proportion. Liposuction can be performed on its own, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift, breast reduction or tummy tuck.
Liposuction can be performed in a number of areas of the body, including abdomen, waist, back, chest, calves, ankles, face & neck, hips, buttocks, inner knees, thighs and upper arms.
For more information, email us or call to speak with one of our physicians. They are happy to answer patients’ questions personally.
Lower Body Lift
A lower body lift sculpts the abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks, for a dramatic transformation to the lower body. Simply put, it is a combination of a tummy tuck, thigh lift and buttocks lift. It is especially helpful for individuals who have experienced extreme weight loss, as it gets rid of excess skin and fat that diet and exercise cannot.
To learn more about the dramatic transformation a lower body lift can provide, please email us or call to speak with one of our physicians.
Otoplasty
Protruding or disfigured ears can have a profound effect on one’s self esteem. Otoplasty (ear surgery) can improve the shape, position and proportion of the ear for both children and adults, improving not just one’s appearance, but also self esteem.
Interested in otoplasty? Email us or call to speak directly with one of our physicians.
Radiesse®
Radiesse is a material containing hydroxy apetite microspheres. It is used to fill out facila areas and lines. It can last for 12-18 months. Radiesse® is not used for lip enhancement.
Talk to our aesthetician for more information on Radiesse®.
Restylane®
Restylane® is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid. When injected into the skin, it restores volume to minimize wrinkles and folds and provides natural-looking results that can last for up to six months. It is a popular choice for the lines that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth, as well as other moderate to severe facial wrinkles.
If you are interested in reducing the lines on your face with Restylane® or any injectable filler, our aesthetician would be glad to provide you with more information.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is often done to reduce the size of or improve the shape of the nose. Whether heredity or an injury is to blame for your misshapen nose, surgery can improve the size, width, asymmetry, imperfections to the nasal tip, bumps visible in a profile shot, etc. Not done purely for cosmetic reasons, rhinoplasty is also done to correct structural abnormalities and improve breathing.
If you are considering rhinoplasty, our physicians are happy to answer any questions you might have. Give us a call to speak with one of them personally.
Scar Revision
Scars, while unavoidable and sometimes unpredictable, can be greatly reduced in appearance. From topical treatments to minimally invasive surgeries, to advanced surgical techniques, the options vary as greatly as scars can, so it’s best to speak with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your best option.
Email or call our office to speak directly with one of our physicians. They will gladly answer any questions and provide you with more information.
Sculptra
Sculptra® Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid which can replace lost collagen in the face, allowing for a more youthful and natural-looking appearance. It contains a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material which is naturally absorbed by the body as it works to restore collagen over time. Sculptra® Aesthetic is a treatment of about three injections over the course of a couple months and the results can last about two years. By beginning in the deep dermis, Sculptra® works to reinforce and replace lost collagen gradually. The new collagen then provides a foundation that will help to restore the fullness in one’s wrinkles, leading to younger looking skin.
Skin Resurfacing/Rejuvenation
For individuals interested in improving the texture, clarity or overall appearance of their skin, they have several options for skin rejuvenation. Laser, light and other energy-based treatments can reduce wrinkles, even out pigmentation, reduce the appearance of scars, and improve skin tone, as can chemical peels and dermabrasion techniques.
Get all of your skin resurfacing questions answered by one of our physicians. Give us a call or email us today.
Skin Tumors
The removal of skin tumors, whether benign, precancerous or malignant, will always leave some type of scar. To make the scarring as inconspicuous as possible, you’ll want a board-certified plastic surgeon to perform the surgery. A plastic surgeon is skilled and trained in techniques to remove the tumor and surrounding soft tissue and skin (if necessary) with minimal scarring.
For more information, email us or call to speak with one of our physicians. They are happy to answer patients’ questions personally.
Thigh & Arm Lift
If you have tried diet and exercise, but still do not have the thighs you want, a thigh lift can remove the stubborn fat and excess skin for shapelier, better-proportioned legs. The upper arm area can be one of the most difficult areas to remove excess fat and one of the most noticeable areas of sagging skin. An arm lift can reshape the under portion of the upper arm, correcting the dropping, sagging appearance.
For answers to any questions you might have about thigh and arm lifts, or any other procedures, feel free to email us or call the office to speak directly with one of our physicians.
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck (also known as abdominoplasty) can remove excess abdominal fat and skin caused from aging, heredity, major weight fluctuations, pregnancy or prior surgery. In most cases, a tummy tuck can also restore weakened or separated abdominal muscles for a smoother, firmer look.
A tummy tuck is not meant to be a substitute for weight loss, and individuals who are planning substantial weight loss or women who may become pregnant may be advised to postpone a tummy tuck.
To learn if you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck, email us or call our office to speak with one of our physicians personally.
Weight Loss After Care/Sculpturing
While major weight loss can rid one’s body of unwanted fat and weight, underlying tissue and excess and stretched skin can only be lost through surgery. Upper arms, abdominal area, breasts, thighs and buttocks are the areas most commonly targeted in these body-contouring surgeries.
Our physicians are glad to personally answer any questions you may have regarding body- contouring procedures. Feel free to call or email our office.
