Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is used to change the appearance of the nose and may improve breathing complications. This procedure is most commonly referred to as a nose job. Rhinoplasty is a very common surgery for both men and women.

Since the nose is one of the most prominent features on the face, it often receives a significant amount of attention when considering facial plastic surgery. The goal of Rhinoplasty is to create a natural look that fits the patient’s face. During your consultations, we will discuss the strength or softness of your facial features, your age, and skin tone. These factors will all be taken into consideration when deciding on the specifics of your surgery.

Patient Reasoning for
Rhinoplasty

  • Humps along bridge
  • Bulbous tips
  • Nose too long
  • Nose too turn-up
  • Nose too big
  • Asymmetrical

During the surgery, the shape, size or configuration of the nose bone and cartilage is altered. Once the structural changes have been made the skin is then positioned over the new nose structure to reveal its new shape.

A lengthy recovery period should be expected after having Rhinoplasty. Bruising and swelling of the nose and face are generally anticipated during the first 2 to 4 weeks after surgery. Most patients are able to return to normal activities a week into recovery.
