Preparing for a Brow Lift
During your initial consultation, your surgeon will provide you with detailed pre- and post-operative instructions. If you smoke, you may be advised to quit at least during the weeks preceding and immediately following brow lift surgery. Patients may have to stop taking certain medications and should avoid alcohol in the days leading up to the procedure.
Brow Lift Recovery
Most patients go home within a few hours of a brow lift. However, more complex cases may require an overnight stay for monitoring. We recommend that you arrange for a friend or family member to stay with you for at least 24 hours after your surgery.
For the first ten to 14 days, you will have some bruising and swelling, so you will not see the full improvements of your brow lift. Bruising may occur in your eye, cheek, and forehead areas. Swelling is minimized by keeping your head elevated, including while you are sleeping. Other post-surgical symptoms include tingling, numbness, and a tightening sensation.
